Emma + Christian’s ceremony was situated right on the water at Mingo Point on Kiawah Island Resort with never-ending marsh views. Kiawah was a special place to the couple and their family since they grew up vacationing here, so the venue was an easy decision. The couple got ready at a gorgeous cottage on Kiawah which felt like you were tucked away in the countryside of Italy. Emma wanted to incorporate a more bold color palette with a mix of elegance and earthy bohemian aesthetics! The Tuscan inspired structure over the head table was dripping in white flowers and greenery which complimented the rustic venue perfectly. There are many factors that go into choosing what type of food service appears at your wedding. We have put together a description for each style of meal to help you better understand the options!
With a plated dinner, there must be seating for 100% of your guest count with assigned seats. Things to note for the caterers: where children are seated or any allergies people may have! Should you choose to offer a plated dinner with guests to pre-select their entree, you must provide a seating chart for guests to find their seat, along with place cards denoting each entree selection at each seat with a significant indicator visible to serving staff. You can also opt for a duo entree, where all guests are served the same meal, typically a land and sea protein which eliminates the need for additional stationary.
Family style food service has a full place setting and a seat for each for each guest, but seats do not have to be assigned (only tables)! At a family style dinner, each dish is passed around the table to every person so they may take what they would like. If you imagine Thanksgiving, that’s what family style is! Keep in mind for this style of meal, there needs to be room on the center of the tables and more minimal decor to create enough room for the serving platters.
Stations only require partial seating and offer the biggest variety of food options which are served as a small plate or tapas style. Stations allow you to have a diverse menu, since they are spaced throughout the reception you can mix and match styles of food. For example, you can have tacos, southern bbq, and pasta, the options are endless and can reflect the bride and grooms favorite cuisine! No seating chart or place cards are needed, but it is recommended that you save a seat or table for the bride + groom!
One of the sweetest parts of any wedding is the bride and groom’s first dance as husband and wife. What we love about first dances is that they are always different and personal to each couple. We love the classic slow dance to a sweet love song that will bring tears to your eyes, but it is also always so fun to watch a choreographed dance that the couple worked hard on to surprise their wedding guests with! Meghan + Justin both swiped right on hinge, and the rest is history! The couple said their vows in front of a gorgeous floral fountain at the Thomas Bennett House. After the ceremony, guests headed up to the porch for cocktail hour featuring roaming oysters provided by Oysters XO. White and gold were definitely the central color of this classic wedding from Meghan’s beautiful gown, to her bouquet of white peonies, to the elegant centerpieces. In the words of the bride “I knew I wanted a banger outfit change”. Amy and Eric wanted to celebrate their wedding at a historic venue dripping with southern charm so Lowndes Grove was the perfect fit! Their wedding style was classic, romantic, and full of southern elegance. They wanted to blend old southern hospitality with new elements, so their design embraced details inspired by the venues charm and architecture. Seen throughout were neutral colors, distressed textures, and sprinkling a personal collection of authentic antiques throughout. To create a romantic garden feel, their flowers had pops of pale peach and soft blue to bring warmth to the white flowers with lots of fresh greenery. The champagne escort display was a gilded antique wrought iron etagere that was previously owned by the brides great-grandmother as well as the candleabra. Inside of the house, the couple offered a coffee bar complete with their grandmother’s recipe for her locally famous ‘lake cake’. They wanted the wedding to feel like they were hosting a grand party in their own home, and they achieved just that! Amy had all eyes on her when she stepped onto the dance floor in her amazing Oscar de la Renta dress to share her choreographed first dance with Eric and totally nailed that final lift! The cake was designed after the intricate lace detail of the brides dress, and the display was a showstopper! We wish a lifetime of love and happiness to this sweet couple!

Anne + Willy said their "I Do's" at St.Luke's Chapel with an elegant reception following at The Cedar Room! The bride and groom traveled from the church in style to their venue in a 1931 Bentley. Don’t be afraid to mix and match styles for your wedding like this couple did! Their modern chic vibe went perfectly with the urban feel of the venue with exposed brick, floor-to-ceiling windows, and historic wood columns. Marble chargers, gray napkins, and acrylic place cards were set at each table with pops of gold and romantic crystal candelabras. Hanging above the mirrored bar, there was an overflowing flower installation as the focal point of the room! The couple also tied in the marble element into their cake display and stationary. Outside in the courtyard, they went with more masculine details such as a leather lounge, bistro lighting, mahogany bar, and a live cigar roller for guests to enjoy once the dancing kicked off! Anne has a deep love for candles, so she brought on Candlefish to set up their mobile library for guests to smell different scents and select their favorite candle as a take away favor! We loved celebrating this day with Anne and Willy; congrats to the newlyweds!

The countdown has begun! To make sure your wedding day is as stress free and relaxed as possible, we have compiled a list to ensure that your wedding day runs smoothly. Follow these tips to make the most out of your day!
Clean your ring! Your ring will be showcased to your guests all night and forever in photos, so be sure it sparkles!
Make sure both of your overnight bags are packed and ready to go! Lingerie, toothbrush, cell phone charger…all the essentials. You will be thankful this is already done and packed in the car for departure!
Day-of-items. Stationary, seating chart, guest book, picture frames, ceremony programs, cake toppers, etc. Have all day-of-items organized and clearly labeled at the ceremony rehearsal. Use a detailed checklist to ensure everything is accounted for before the wedding day!
Tipping. Set aside tips for the vendors to show your appreciation! We recommend having separate envelopes labeled for each vendor to distribute at the end of the night
Pamper yourself! Self care is always important, but make sure all beauty maintenance is done the week before your wedding! Manicure, pedicure, spray tan, eye brow waxing, etc. We all know the mishaps that can happen the day-of grooming, so take care of yourself in advance! Don’t try out any new treatments the week of the wedding (or even that month) because there is always a possibility that you could have a bad reaction!
Dress Steaming. Make sure that all of the wedding attire is steamed and wrinkle free! This includes the bridesmaids getting ready robes and groomsmen outfits.
Practice Vows. Make sure to practice your vows whether they are handwritten or ‘standard’ vows, be familiar with the words and keeping a steady pace. Don’t wait until the last minute!
Obtain marriage license.
Prep Gifts. If you are giving gifts to the bridal party, fiance, and/or parents; make sure everything is wrapped and organized. Make sure to write handwritten notes in advance.

They are sharing how to get your wedding published in the eye of a photographer and we couldn’t agree more with what they have to say! It is so important to keep these things in mind to make sure your wedding stands out against the rest! See below their top 6 tips!
Bouquets- Make sure your florist trims your bouquet stems as much as possible. You should barely be able to see them or not at all.
Cake-Stay away from having a white cake. Think color, pattern, or texture. Do something cool and new!
We love blush but think of a way to change it up. Maybe add in an interesting accent color or pattern to to your wedding day design.
4. Have plates or chargers on your tables. Even if you have stations, still have a plate or charger pre-set on the table. A reception table will feel empty in photos without a plate to ground it.
5. Cool seating charts! There’s more than just calligraphy on mirrors. Pinterest has tons of awesome options out there.
6. Stay away from garland table runners. Trade the greenery for big blooms and unique vases!

To make sure your night goes smoothly without any trips or rips from guests stepping on your wedding dress, it is important to have a bustle sewn into your wedding dress! A bustle refers to the sewing process of transitioning a wedding gown to function as if it has no train. There are many different types of bustles, depending on the fabric and style of dress. By doing so, it is easier for you to walk post ceremony and move around throughout the night. Each type of bustle works differently, so we’re here to explain the most popular and how each one works!
American Bustle (or Over Bustle)
This bustle is created by lifting the train up - using buttons, loops, or hooks - over the dress itself. The length of the bustle should be the same length of the hem so the dress is even all the way around. This bustle is great for ballgowns.
This bustle gathers the gown’s fabric centrally down the middle of the back of the dress using ribbons sewn into the back seam of the gown to secure both sides of the dress together. This bustle is great for gowns with intricate details.
French Bustle (or Under Bustle)
This bustle picks up the train by hooking underneath the dress itself. This is commonly done with ribbons and has multiple pick up points to support the weight of the train and add extra flair to the dress.
This bustle makes the train disappear by folding the fabric in on itself by using multiple bustle points sewn around the bodice of the dress.
A few additional tips on bustling:
-Budget for the bustle: Be sure to ask about this when purchasing your dress, as this is typically an added expense. The cost will vary depending on the style of bustle you need.
-Take Notes: Someone will need to know how to do the bustle on the wedding day, so be sure to take notes or a video of the seamstress showing how to do the bustle so you can have a friendly reminder the day-of (especially if there are many steps involved). This is a perfect duty for the maid of honor or mother of the bride to learn!
-Bustles can break, so be prepared! No matter how carefully you bustle, there is a slight chance it might break. Dresses can be very heavy, and the very delicate bustle points may not hold, so be sure to have extra safety pins just in case!
